Changes made from version 5.00.20 to 5.00.30:
* Provide support for Nokia 5800 (S60 touch screen).
* Provide a background service that monitors incoming messages which may contain information used by Garmin Mobile XT. A new setting will allow the user to turn this option off (Tools -> Settings -> System -> Launch Background Service).
* Improve map drawing performance.

Tutorial & Download for Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.40 S60 FULL (5800/N95/E71…)

_Plug your phone and use the mass storage/usb mode (not the PC Suite one !!!).
_Then copy those folders (Garmin,Private,Resource,Sys) from the main archive to the root of your device (E:\).
_Copy them one by one, otherwise you’ll get a “Corrupted apps” error.(1)
_Unplug your phone, wait a few seconds and it will tell you that the app wasn’t installed, it’s normal.

_Go to your phone’s app manager and finally install Garmin.
_Run it and get your personnal CardID in Tools->Settings->About.
_Write it down and close Garmin.

_On your computer, run the provided keygen and enter your CardID at the top (Enter your Unit ID here) then generate your unlock code.
_Copy/paste it into notepad and save this file (without any extension!) as “SW.UNL”.
_Don’t close the keygen and at the bottom in the “Map Product” dropdown field select <Custom Mapset> and enter “378″ in the 1st field (FID).
_Copy/paste it into notepad and save this file (without any extension!) as “GMAPSUPP.UNL”.

_Now copy those “GMAPSUPP.UNL” and “SW.UNL” files into the Garmin folder of your phone.
_Copy the unlocked map of your choice (GMAPSUPP.IMG) in the same folder (E:\Garmin).
_That’s it, off you go! Just remember to turn on only the “Onboard/Phone GPS” in your phone’s GPS settings to avoid beeing charged.
_This way, the 1st sat fix might take a little bit longer to get but it works i’ve installed it on 5 Nokia5800 phones.

If you ever get this warning, remove all previous folders and start again, it will work.

Hi,

First, thank you for the hips of info above.

Since it’s a lot of info, I get confuse. I just want to install Garmin XT for my new phone: Omnia HD. it’s running symbian S60 5th edition.

I read forums and indicated that garmin XT s60 version 4 will also work?

To get the Product ID (a.k.a. Map ID) of a Garmin map product from an existing gmapsupp.img file, follow these procedures.

1. Open the map gmapsupp.img by a binary file editor such as UltraEdit. ;
2. Search for the ASCII string “GARMIN MDR”, quotes not included.
3. If not found, quit, nothing can be done. Otherwise, scroll back one or two pages to see if it contains the name of a map product similar to the string in blue polygon in the attached picture.
4. If no name of map product found, go back to step 2 above and find next match.
5. Count 6 bytes back from the first character of the map product name in blue polygon and copy down the first two bytes (as seen in red box).
6. Reverse the values of the two bytes, enter that to your scientific calculator in hex mode and convert that to decimal.
